The Fall

God wants peace for His creation and life — not killing.

Failing God

Let us consider the Anglican prayer:

Loving God,
when you created humankind you looked at what you had made and saw that it was very good.

But we humans failed to trust and honour you.
We worshipped things we had invented
and became full of wickedness, malice and deceit.

Now our world is scarred by war, conflict and hatred.

Lord, have mercy.

You did see that it was very good.

So the failing is to fail to trust or honour God.

But we know that God is good.

We know that God does not exploit animals.

We also know that He does not exploit the victims of war.

So it is failing God to fail the animals.

It is failing God to fail the victims of war.

Your Will Be Done

When we pray to God with the Lord's Prayer, we pray:

“Your will be done.”

Your will — God's will — is for peace, and not for the exploitation of animals or people.
