In verse 29 there is no reason to assume that an animal was killed and skinned, or even the copse of one used. Obviously fruit skins could have been used or created.
The question is then, what sort of clothes would God make?
The Hebrew word ‘Or’ means both ‘skin’ and ‘light’, which really something lost in translation. Clothes of light is a traditional Rabbinic description of Adam and Eve’s clothes. God would not stain his creation with blood by killing one of His creation who had a soul.
Note 1: (Colin Ayres July 2025): There is no use of the word STOCK in reference to animals in the Bible. The word is Behomah, H0929, cattle or beasts that often share in human suffering for sin, they suffer in times of drought and war just as humans do and the same in times of God punishment. In Matthew 21.12,, when Jesus rejected doves being sold in the Temple, this idea of selling lives was rejected.
